About Ms. Hazard
I am proud to say that I grew up in Maine, but I had the opportunity to go off to college in Greater Boston. I attended Boston College for my undergraduate degree, and the University of Massachusetts for a master's degree in business. Most recently, I completed the Extended Teacher Education Program at USM in my pursuit of a master's degree in education.
I am a former marketing professional turned English teacher. After working in business consulting and marketing for nearly twenty years, I decided to make a career change. My desire to pursue a career in education first took root within my family as I sought to understand the social, emotional and intellectual needs of my three children. My role as a parent quickly propelled me into the role of teacher. My experiences at home and in the classroom as a substitute teacher, combined with those I most enjoyed as a leader in my profession (working with people!), fueled my desire to become a full-time teacher.
I have one child in college and twins beginning their sophomore year at Falmouth High School. We have two cats (Socks and Tiger) who provide us all with hours of entertainment, but we don't really laugh at the 4am cries for food and attention! I love to read (yep.. I'm an English teacher!), make stained glass, hang out at the lake, and I love to bake!
I look forward to getting to know you this year!
